Dr. Justin Mackert grew up in Westlake, OH, and went to St. Ignatius High School. He then received his undergraduate degree from The Citadel in Charleston, SC before receiving his DMD from The Medical University of South Carolina.
His childhood dentist Dr. Nick Gravino inspired ultimately him to become a dentist. Dr. Mackert speaks both Spanish and English. He was a former NCAA Division 1 Baseball player and assistant baseball coach for The Citadel and loves the Cleveland Indians. He has one Pet, a border collie named Graham. His favorite quote is from Warren Buffet, “Don’t pass up something that’s attractive today because you think you will find something better tomorrow.”

Dr. Jez’s experience, patient care, and personality will make every patient feel comforted and at ease. Dr. Jez aspired to be a dentist from a young age. He enjoyed hands-on toys and activities, such as painting and woodworking. To him, dentistry is an art that he is passionate about. Following in the footsteps of his own dentist, Dr. Jez worked as his assistant in high school and took pre-dental classes. After obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, he attended Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 1987. In his free time, Dr. Jez enjoys staying active by running, swimming, and biking in the summer, and skiing, skating, and snow-shoeing in the winter. He is passionate about plants and animals, gardening as a form of therapy, and loving his 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a parrot.
