Braces
We offer a range of braces options to help you, or your child achieve a healthy, beautiful smile. From traditional metal braces to ceramic brackets and clear aligners, we tailor treatment to meet your needs.
Our patients are well-informed throughout the process on what to expect and receive guidance post-application to help ensure success. Most treatments last around 24 months, with regular check-ins every 4 to 8 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions
How early can you get braces?
We recommend examining patients as early as age 8 and in certain situations younger. It is rarely too early to examine a child. It gives us the option to begin intervention treatment or place the patient on observation and review their growth and development regularly.
How do you properly maintain your braces?
Excellent oral hygiene includes brushing and flossing techniques and routine visits with your family dentist. Also follow the guidelines given to you by your orthodontist regarding foods to eat and the care of the appliances.
When you get braces, how often do you have to visit the orthodontist?
Generally, every 4 to 8 weeks. Certain appliances require a different schedule. Your orthodontist will inform you if this is the case.
How long do most people typically wear braces?
Average treatment time is generally around 12 to 24 months for traditional braces, depending on the severity of needed dental work, followed by wearing a retainer for a specified time.
What are the benefits of braces?
Braces can improve your dental health and, in certain circumstances, improve your overall health. They also can improve your facial esthetics and self-esteem in certain situations. They are beneficial to the treatment of some speech difficulties, and braces can contribute to improving periodontal situations as well as aid in certain restorative treatment plans.
What different types of braces do you offer?
We offer standard metal braces, ceramic brackets, and in certain cases, clear aligner treatment.
What foods should I avoid?
Hard Foods: Popcorn, nuts, peanut brittle, ice, hard candies, candied apples, jerky, large hard pretzels, hard taco shells, hard cookies, hard crackers, croutons, etc.
Sticky foods: Gum, caramels, Laffy Taffy or any kind of taffy, Starburst, gummy bears, Sour Patch Kids, FruitRoll-Ups, Skittles, Milk Duds, DOTS, malted milk balls, Tootsie Rolls, toffee, etc.
Dr. Rany Bous
Dr. Rany Bous was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. He attended Cairo University where he received his Bachelor of Oral and Dental Medicine. Dr. Bous moved to Cleveland, Ohio for a fellowship of orthodontics at Case Western Reserve University, where he then completed his residency from 2016-2019. Dr. Bous is a Fellow, Craniofacial, Surgical and Special Care Orthodontist at Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Bous has specialized training and works with patients with special needs, cleft lip and palate, congenital craniofacial deformities, and complex surgical orthodontics. He is highly involved with the American Cleft-Palate Craniofacial Association and reviewing for the Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal. Dr. Bous is also a peer reviewer of scientific articles submitted for publication to the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the Cleveland Society of Orthodontics, and the Ohio Dental Association as well as many more. In 2019 alone he was the recipient of the Edward Reiter Cleft Palate Grant from Mt. Sinai Healthcare Foundation and best Oral Health Poster Abstract Award from The American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Bous grew up in a family of physicians, so the medical field has always been home to him. He studied orthodontics because of the positive impact that it can make on the patients’ self-esteem, confidence, and quality of life. He is a huge fan and player of soccer and his favorite team to watch is Barcelona. His favorite place to vacation is Thailand, he had a Doberman mix name Jack growing up and he looks forward to getting another dog soon!

Dr. Sofia Xofylli
Dr. Sofia Xofylli was born in Cologne, Germany and spent part of her childhood in Illinois. She originally is from Thessaloniki, Greece, where she grew up, went to school, and where her family now resides. She attended the Dental School of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki where she received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Xofylli was inspired to become an orthodontist by her father, who is a speech pathologist and cofounder of the first Craniofacial Team in Greece. To pursue this dream, Dr. Xofylli moved to Cleveland, Ohio to complete her Orthodontic Residency and receive her Masters in the Science of Dentistry (MSD) degree from Case Western Reserve University. While at Case, her research culminated in her Thesis on Biomechanics and Orthodontic Tooth Movement with Invisalign.
Dr. Xofylli is currently an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. She is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists (GLAO), and the Dental Association of Thessaloniki, Greece.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking and baking, listening to music, and spending time with her family. She loves to vacation to anywhere that allows her to swim in the Aegean Sea.
