At Hudec Dental, we want our patients to feel confident that they are receiving the best care and are treated as our number one priority. We take pride in our caring employees throughout every office and, each month, we choose a “featured employee” to go beyond their titles and to share more about who they really are. Our featured employee this month is Dr. Kyungsik Moon, a provider at our Hudec Dental Office in Bedford. Enjoy learning a little bit about him!
Dr. Moon was born in South Korea and lived there for 26 years before moving to L.A. for 2 years. He now resides in Cleveland with his family where they have lived for 8 years. He has an educational background in Biology and attended Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine where he received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.
Dr. Moon first heard about Hudec Dental through Dr. Dug Soo Kim from Hudec Dental’s Lorain Office. Dr. Kim had told Dr. Moon about the environment and structure which lead him to find his place here. His favorite part about Hudec Dental is the good people (naturally, he is partial to his rocking staff at Bedford!). Since he began at Hudec Dental in 2015, he has traveled from a few different locations when there was a need. He began at Bedford, went to Strongsville, Lorain, and Garfield Heights and then landed back at Bedford where he currently works along side Dr. Sunny Bae.
The inspiration that Dr. Moon had to become a dentist stemmed from his desire to be in the medical field from a young age. He had the opportunity to observe a dentist when he was studying in L.A. and from there, he was hooked! In that experience, he realized that dentist’s need fine hand skills along with great hand-eye coordination. Knowing that, he knew he would be a perfect fit for the industry…and he was right! His greatest achievement was getting into dental school just 2 years after he came to the U.S. and he has worked hard ever since. Dr. Moon’s advice for new hires would be: “do not be afraid to learn every day and ask questions, always put patients first, and open up to dentists or other staff members for advice.”
Dr. Moon’s favorite quote is, “treat others as you want to be treated,” The Golden Rule. His favorite travel spot thus far has been Cancun where he enjoyed nice weather, beautiful beaches, and unlimited food! (YUM!) He currently does not have a hobby but he recently purchased a 1,000 piece puzzle that is quickly becoming his new hobby! In his spare time he likes to play soccer with his kids and a fun fact about him is that he LOVES fun socks. The most important thing that Dr. Moon says he has learned in the last five years is, “happy wife, happy life!” Along with that, the one thing he could not live without is his wife and children. Lastly, as a 8-year Clevelander, he enjoys going to Indians games with his family.
